====== STM/STS for benzene on Ni(110)/Ni(111) ======

Adsorbates without levels near the Fermi energy seen on metal surfaces by STM and effect of electron life time

===== Introduction =====


Organic or inorganic adsorbates such as C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>6</sub> without levels near the Fermi energy are often seen on metal or semiconductor surfaces by scanning tunneling microscopy. Theoretical analyses are made on this, using the Newns Anderson (Coqblin Schrieffer) models for the lowest unoccupied and highest occupied molecular orbitals with intramolecular interactions. Possible importance of the interaction effect is pointed out.
